Laura is a biologist by training and a travel lover at heart. She moved from Canada to Ecuador in 2020 and since then has been passionate about sharing her love for the nature and diversity of the country with visitors. She loves hiking, exploration, photography and snorkeling and is thrilled to have the opportunity to combine her passions with her work with Surf Mompiche and ROAM.
Diego Paredes
Guide
Diego Paredes was born in Ambato, a city in the middle of the Ecuadorian Andes region surrounded by volcanoes and natural beauty. He has always been interested in geology and nature, and in 1998 he moved to the Galápagos Islands. In 2005, he began working as naturalist in the Galapagos National Park.
Diego is also passionate about photography and combines his knowledge and photographic abilities to create pictures that express the essence of the Galápagos. He finds that birds are his most challenging yet favorite subject to capture through his lens.
